scrap craft supply dream catcher diy Posted at 8:59 AM 0 comments (+)

So I was finally able to finish my dream catcher the other day, after about a month of delaying it. I wish I had taken pictures of the actual process of making the body (the circular part and the net in the middle), but! I didn't have a blog yet so there really was no point and I had no idea this was going to turn into a diy. This was made from old scraps of crafting supplies I had left over from years and multitude of crafting projects. Believe me, with this I didn't even scratch the surface of all the leftover supplies I have.

What you'll need:
-floral wire (used to make the circle)
-extra yarn lying around
-flowy ribbon
-any pearls or beads
-thread & needle
-fake flowers
-e6000 glue (the best glue ever)
-a creative spirit!

1. shape your floral wire into a perfect circle. wrap your yarn (or any other rope thing you have) around the circle. (here's the net tutorial x ) cut varying lengths of yarn and tie it to the bottom of the circle. you can also add ribbon to spruce it up and make it look more flowy.
2. string beads or pearls (i broke apart an old pearl necklace--don't worry, it was fake!) with a needle and thread. it can be any length you want. leave an extra inch or two after you've beaded in order to tie it to the dream catcher.
3. add any other decorations you want. for me, i dotted some e6000 glue (i seriously use this thing for all my projects) onto some small flower stickers i bought a long time ago. i also tore apart an old flower headband and e-sixthousanded (that's my verb i'm going to use for the glue) a small flower in the middle.

I know the flower in the middle defeats the purpose of an actual dream catcher, but I wanted to add my own personality to it (kind of, it's just so pretty). This one is really easy to make though, and you can add anything you like to it!
